Minecraft server status checker

Check if any Minecraft server is online: players, version, MOTD and ping, for Java and Bedrock at once.

Type a Minecraft server address to see if it is online right now, how many players are on, the version and the MOTD. It checks Java and Bedrock at the same time, the same way the multiplayer screen does. No sign-up, nothing to install.

How to check if a Minecraft server is online #

  1. Type the server address players use to join, like play.example.com or an IP.
  2. Leave the port empty unless the server uses a custom one. Java uses 25565 (and SRV records are followed), Bedrock uses 19132.
  3. Press Check status. You get online or offline, players, version and the MOTD for each edition.

The result link updates with your address, so you can share it with friends: they open it and the check runs again.

Why a server shows offline #

  • The server is stopped or still starting. Big modpacks can take a few minutes to start.
  • Wrong port. Check the port in server.properties (server-port) or your host's panel. See find your server IP and port.
  • Hosted on a home PC. It is only reachable while the PC is on and the port is forwarded. See play without port forwarding.
  • Bedrock offline but Java online. The server has no Bedrock support, or Geyser is not on UDP 19132. See Bedrock crossplay.
  • Query blocked. Some networks hide the status ping. Players can often still join.

FAQ #

Is this Minecraft server status checker free?

Yes. The checker is free to use with no sign-up and no limit for normal use.

Does it work for Bedrock servers?

Yes. Pick Java + Bedrock or Bedrock only. Bedrock is checked on UDP port 19132 unless you type another port.

Why does it say offline when my friends can join?

The status ping can be blocked by some firewalls or proxies, or the port you typed is different from the join port. Try the exact address and port your friends use.

How often is the status updated?

Each check asks the server live. Results are cached for about a minute so the checker never spams a server.

Can I put the status on my website?

Yes. Use the status banner generator for an image that updates on its own, or the JSON link it gives you.
