Discord server templates: 5 layout ideas you can copy
Ready-to-copy channel and role layouts for five kinds of Discord servers, plus how to turn your own setup into a shareable template.
Do you have a template link? #
Not yet. ESN doesn't publish a public Discord template link right now, so instead here are layouts you can copy by hand in a few minutes. When we publish an official template, it will be linked here.

How to build a layout fast #
- Create a server (Discord β + β Create My Own).
- Make the categories first, then the channels inside each one.
- Set @everyone to read-only in info channels, and hide staff categories from everyone except staff roles.
- Turn on Community in Server Settings to get a rules screen, a welcome screen and an announcements channel type.
- Add a security bot before you share the invite. See the server security checklist.

Turn your layout into a template #
Once your server looks right, you can share it: Server Settings β Server Template β Generate Template. Discord copies channels, roles, permissions and settings, but not messages or members. Anyone with the link can create a copy. Remove private staff channels first if you don't want those copied.
Add bots that run 24/7 #
Want your own welcome, ticket or moderation bot in your new server? See Discord bot templates or start from our bot starter code, then host it on ESN from $0.50/month.
FAQ #
Does a Discord template copy messages? #
No. Templates copy channels, roles, permissions and server settings only. Messages, members, emojis and bots are not copied.
How many channels should a new server have? #
Fewer than you think. 8 to 15 channels is plenty to start. Empty channels make a server feel dead, so add more when people ask for them.
Can I update a template later? #
Yes. In Server Template, use Sync Template to update it to your current setup.
Add ESN Guardian to protect it β
