How to set up a Palworld dedicated server

2 min readUpdated Oct 31, 2026

Set up a Palworld dedicated server: install, server name and password, admin password, max players, crossplay platforms and how players join.

A Palworld dedicated server keeps your world running for everyone, not only while the host plays. ESN installs the Palworld dedicated server for you. The Palworld plan has 8 GB of RAM; check the plans page for stock, because large plans can sell out.

Set it up #

  1. Buy the Palworld plan on the panel's plans page and pay on Stripe. The server is set up automatically.
  2. Let the first install finish; it's a big download.
  3. Open Startup and set Server Name, Server Description, Server Password and Max Players.
  4. Note the Admin Password. ESN sets a random one for you; change it to something only you know.
  5. Set Crossplay Platforms if friends play on other platforms.
  6. Restart the server and wait for the Console to show it is running.

Join the server #

In Palworld choose Join Multiplayer Game (Dedicated Server). Type the IP:port from your server's page in the panel into the box at the bottom and choose Connect. Enter the server password when asked.

Use admin commands #

In game, open chat and type /AdminPassword yourAdminPassword. After that you can use admin commands such as /ShowPlayers, /KickPlayer, /BanPlayer, /Save and /Broadcast.

Tips #

  • Palworld servers use more memory the longer they run with many players. A scheduled daily restart helps: see schedules.
  • Save with /Save before you restart by hand.
  • Players must run the same game version as the server. Restart the server after a game update.
  • Stop the server before you download or replace world files.

All four game plans side by side: game server setup.

FAQ #

How much RAM does a Palworld server need? #

Palworld is heavy. ESN's Palworld plan has 8 GB of RAM.

How do I become admin on my Palworld server? #

Type /AdminPassword followed by the Admin Password from your server's Startup tab in the in-game chat.

Why is my Palworld server using more and more memory? #

Long sessions with many players build up memory use. Save and restart it regularly, for example with a daily schedule.

Can players on other platforms join? #

Set Crossplay Platforms in Startup to the platforms you want to allow, then restart.
