Host a Discord giveaway bot 24/7

3 min readUpdated Nov 3, 2026

Run giveaways with a button, a live countdown and fair random winners. Get our ready-made giveaway bot template and run it 24/7 on ESN Hosting.

Get the giveaway bot template ($4.99) at listings.esnoffical.com/templates, then host it on ESN from $0.50/month.

What the template does #

  • /giveaway start with a prize, a duration (30m, 2h, 1d12h) and up to 20 winners.
  • Enter button with a live entry count (press again to leave).
  • Ends on time by itself and announces the winners.
  • /giveaway end, /giveaway reroll and /giveaway list.
  • Giveaways are saved, so they survive restarts.

Set it up in 3 steps #

  1. Get the template. Buy the Giveaway bot template ($4.99) at listings.esnoffical.com/templates. You can download the zip right away, and the link is emailed to you too.
  2. Get a bot plan. Pick a Discord bot plan on the plans page. Bot hosting starts at $0.50/month and your server is created right after checkout.
  3. Upload and start it. Unzip the template, copy .env.example to .env and paste your bot token (see how to create a bot and get its token). Upload the files in the panel's file manager or over SFTP, set the start file to bot.py and press Start. Setup steps are also in README.md inside the zip.

Which plan? #

Nano (256 MB) runs it fine. You can move to a bigger plan later. See how much RAM a bot needs.

Change it or bring your own code #

You get the full source code: plain, readable Python you can edit in the file manager or over SFTP. Your token stays in .env on your server only. Already have your own bot? Upload it and start it instead.

FAQ #

Do I need coding skills? #

No. Unzip the template, paste your bot token into .env, upload it to your bot server and press Start.

Who can start giveaways? #

Members with the Manage Server permission. You can change that in Discord's Integrations settings.

What happens if the bot restarts? #

Nothing is lost. Running giveaways are saved and end on time after a restart.

Will it stay online 24/7? #

Yes. On ESN Hosting it runs on our servers, not your PC, so giveaways end on time even when you're offline.
