ATM10 server hosting: how much RAM and how to set it up

4 min readUpdated Nov 3, 2026

All the Mods 10 (ATM10) is a kitchen-sink pack with around 500 mods on NeoForge for Minecraft 1.21.1. It needs a lot of RAM and a strong CPU, so pick the plan first and then follow the setup below.

What ATM10 is #

ATM10 is made by the All the Mods team. Its CurseForge page calls it a pack "with around 500 mods", tons of quests and a proper endgame. The current release is All the Mods 10-8.4 (uploaded Oct 29, 2026).

Where to get the serverOfficial Server Files on the pack's CurseForge file page

ATM10 is only published on CurseForge, so the Install a modpack button in the panel (which searches Modrinth) won't find it. Use the server files route below.

How much RAM ATM10 needs #

The All the Mods server guide says a server needs at least 6 GB allocated RAM "as required for most ATM packs". That is a floor, not a comfortable target. ATM10 is one of the biggest packs they make, and memory grows with every player who explores new chunks.

Our practical range, based on that 6 GB floor and on how memory grows with players (this is our estimate, not a number from the pack):

Players onlinePractical RAMWhy
1 to 48 GBThe 6 GB floor plus room for chunk loading and quests
5 to 1012 GBMore loaded areas, more machines and farms
10 or more16 GBESN's largest plan; also lower view-distance

If you're unsure, start at 8 GB, watch the memory graph on the server page while people play, and upgrade if it sits near the limit.

Which ESN plan fits #

PlayersPlanRAM / CPUPrice
1 to 4ESN Pro 8GB8 GB / 400%$9.99/mo
1 to 4, on a budgetESN Extreme 8 GB8 GB / 250%$7.99/mo
5 to 10ESN Pro 12GB12 GB / 500%$14.99/mo
10 or moreESN Pro 16GB16 GB / 600%$19.99/mo

Prices are the regular monthly list prices from plans and billing. NeoForge needs a plan with at least 2 GB, but ATM10 won't run well on anything near that. ESN's largest plan is 16 GB, so very large public ATM10 servers are not a good fit.

CPU

On ESN, 100% CPU is one full core. Minecraft runs most game logic on one main thread, so a big modpack needs a strong core more than many cores. The extra cores still help with chunk loading, world generation and Java garbage collection, which modpacks do a lot of. The Minecraft-ready Pro plans give more CPU per GB (ESN Pro 8GB has 400%, ESN Extreme 8 GB has 250%), so pick Pro when players explore a lot or the pack has heavy automation.

Set up ATM10 on ESN #

  1. Buy a plan and choose NeoForge as the Minecraft type (see the plan table above).
  2. Open Startup. Set the Minecraft version to 1.21.1 and the NeoForge version to the one the pack uses (it is in the server files or on the pack's file page). In Docker Image, pick Java 21.
  3. Go to Settings and choose Reinstall Server so the panel downloads that loader version. Do this before you upload anything you care about.
  4. Download the official server files on your computer and unzip them. On the ATM10 CurseForge page open Files, pick the same version your players use, scroll to Additional Files and download the Server Files zip.
  5. Upload the pack's folders (mods, config and any others it ships, like defaultconfigs or kubejs) to the top folder. Zip them, upload in Files and choose Unarchive, or use SFTP for big packs. You don't need the pack's start scripts or installer jar. See upload files.
  6. Press Start on the Console. Accept the EULA prompt (or set eula=true in eula.txt).
  7. Wait for the Done line. The first start of a big pack takes a few minutes. Then join with the same pack version.

RAM and Java flags: you don't edit -Xmx on ESN. The panel starts the server and sets its memory from your plan, so the pack's own user_jvm_args.txt and start scripts are not used. If you need custom startup flags, ask in the ESN Systems Discord. See startup settings and the startup flags generator for what the flags do.

Moving an existing ATM10 world from another host? Use the importer: see import from your old host.

Common problems #

  • "Can't keep up! Is the server overloaded?" Normal once during the first start. If it repeats while people play, profile it with spark and fix the top cause. See fix "Can't keep up".
  • Players can't join, "mismatched mod list" or missing mods. Every player needs the exact same pack version as the server. Update the server and all players together.
  • The server crashes at start with a client-only mod. Shaders, minimaps and menu mods sometimes only run on the client. Use the official server files, which leave them out, and don't copy your client mods folder.
  • "Unsupported class file major version" or UnsupportedClassVersionError. Wrong Java version. Change Docker Image in Startup and restart.
  • OutOfMemoryError or the server stops under load. The pack needs more RAM than your plan has. Lower view-distance or move to a bigger plan. See Minecraft RAM.
  • Long first start. ATM10 can take several minutes to load the first time. Don't stop it while it is still loading.

FAQ #

How much RAM does an ATM10 server need?

The All the Mods guide sets a floor of at least 6 GB for most ATM packs. For ATM10 we suggest 8 GB for up to 4 players, 12 GB for 5 to 10 and 16 GB beyond that.

Is ATM10 Forge or NeoForge?

NeoForge, on Minecraft 1.21.1. It needs Java 21.

Can I install ATM10 with one click on ESN?

Not yet. The panel's modpack installer searches Modrinth and ATM10 is only on CurseForge, so you upload the official server files yourself. It takes a few minutes.

Can I change the RAM flags?

The panel sets memory from your plan automatically. For custom startup flags, ask in the ESN Systems Discord.
